The Ignition Propensity Tester IP10 is a modular semi-automated system for testing ignition propensity of cigarettes on the basis of ASTM E 2187 and / or ISO 12863.

Components of the Ignition Propensity Tester (IP10)

Component	Details
Control Panel	Capable of operating up to 10 modules. Used for process visualization, setting operating parameters, and displaying status/fault messages. Operated via touchscreen (or alternatively by keyboard and mouse). Outputs data via USB or network communication for saving and printing. Contains the power supply for adapted modules and the central air supply.
Module Control Unit	Runs the processes of each individual handling system. Contains the pneumatic component and the suction system for lighting cigarettes.
Handling System	Automates most manual and visual tasks required by ISO 12863. Consists of a lifting system, gripper, format-dependent adapter, and a movable infrared heat sensor mounted on a base plate. Can be retrofitted into existing boxes and pulls out easily for cleaning purposes. Powered by pneumatics (except for a stepper-motor controlled by the infrared heat sensor). Features a removable pneumatic ejector pump on top of the module control unit for maintenance-friendly suction.
